How a project tends to unfold.
No two projects move at the same pace, but most pass through roughly the same four phases. We treat them as a rhythm, not a checklist — every project shapes its own path.

Discover
We start with a conversation about your home and the way you live in it.
Most projects begin with a walk-through and a long conversation — about the space, the people in it, and what you’re hoping the work might do. We listen first; the shape of the engagement comes after.
II
Design
Plans, palettes, and material studies take shape together.
From there we move into design — sketches, boards, samples. The format depends on the project; sometimes it’s a few rooms, sometimes a whole home. We present, we discuss, we refine until the direction feels right to you.

Curate
Furnishings, textiles, lighting, and art come together over time.
Curation is the slow part — sourcing, commissioning, and waiting for the right pieces. We draw from our showroom, our trade partners, and the occasional one-of-a-kind find. The pace varies; we’ll keep you in the loop as things land.
IV
Install
Everything is placed, styled, and ready for the life you’re bringing into it.
Install looks different on every project — sometimes a single afternoon, sometimes phased over weeks. What stays the same is the goal: a home that reads as collected and lived-in, not staged.

Questions we hear often.
- What happens after I submit an inquiry?
- We read every note personally and reach out within two to three business days to set up an introductory conversation — by phone or in our Covington showroom. There’s no obligation until we’ve both decided the project is a good fit.
- Do you work outside of Louisiana?
- Yes. We’re based on the Northshore but have completed projects throughout the Gulf South and beyond.
- How are projects structured?
- We work on a design fee plus curated product basis. Every project begins with a clear, written proposal outlining scope and investment.
- What does it cost to work with House of Seven?
- Every project is quoted individually based on scope. Most full-service engagements begin at a six-figure investment inclusive of furnishings.
